Daredevil Barry Finn was a comic strip featuring a handsome, suave character.  Darevevil Barry Finn was named after Tarpe Mills' nephew Barry, who was both the inspiration for the image as well as the style of Daredevil Barry Finn. Barry and his brother, Bill, would often visit Tarpe Mills in her Brooklyn apartment with their mother, Helen. While Helen and June Mills chatted, Barry and Bill would sit in the kitchen with a pile of loose tobacco and a cigarette rolling machine and make hundreds of cigarettes to quench June's nicotine addition. At June's request, Barry would provide detailed technical descriptions, like that of how the coupling mechanism on train cars worked, so the Miss Fury comic strips would be accurate in every detail.
